Grounded in Research
Natural Natural looks to the plant for cannabinoids and to science to prove their efficacy. Natural Natural THCV is made from phytocannabinoids created by an enzyme inside the plant, and is backed by scientific research. Learn more about our GSD Efficacy Study and Joyride Blind Experience Trial.
GSD Efficacy Study
Natural Natural set out to prove that THCV works in the body the way we think it does: by improving energy, motivation and mood. To do this we completed a research study on the effects of Get Sh!t Done (GSD) THCV.*
To examine the effects of GSD on energy level, well-being, motivation, and appetite, we gave study participants unlabeled packages of unmedicated placebo gummies, THC-only gummies, and gummies made with Get Sh!t Done™ (GSD) THCV. The GSD gummies included distillate from the GSD plant with a roughly 2:1 ratio of THCV:THC.
The results showed what we’d hoped: those who tried the GSD gummy were more energized and joyful, and they did not experience the munchies or fatigue from THC.
GSD Study Methods
78 Participants
This first-of-its-kind, IRB approved, double-blind clinical trial included 78 participants.
3 Samples
Each participant was given 3 unlabeled samples:
Placebo (unmedicated)
THC (5mg)
GSD (6.5mg THCV : 3.4mg THC)
Frequency
Participants ingested each gummy type 3x and reported daily on their energy, activity, motivation, focus, appetite, and adverse events.
GSD Study Results
GSD increased activity, exercise performance, motivation, and well-being compared to the placebo, without the fatigue and munchies associated with THC consumption.
We announced the results of the study and our launch of Natural Natural in a recent press release. Read the Press Release on phylos.bio.
*The results of this study may not apply to efficacy of synthetic THCV due to frequent presence of off target molecules created during chemical conversion.
No Increased Appetite
For the THC-only gummy, participants reported increased hunger when taking full doses. The GSD gummy ameliorated the munchies associated with THC consumption, with no statistical difference in reports of hunger between placebo and GSD gummies.
Chart displays percent reporting increased appetite.
Less Fatigue
Participants who consumed the GSD gummy reported significantly less fatigue than placebo and THC-only gummies. Participants who consumed the THC-only gummy reported feeling fatigue three times more than the GSD group.
Chart displays reports of fatigue.
More Joy
40% more participants reported enjoying their daily activities after consuming a GSD gummy versus placebo.
Chart displays percent reporting increased joy.
More Energy
20% more participants felt energized after consuming the GSD gummy over placebo.
Chart displays percent reporting increased energy.
Joyride Blind Experience Trial
Natural Natural explored the effects of THCV in a blind partner experience trial. To examine the effects of Joyride on appetite, exercise motivation, energy, and cognitive impairment, we surveyed participants who smoked prerolls containing ~20% total cannabinoids with either THC only or 1:1 THCV:THC (Joyride).
Joyride Study Methods
30 Participants
Blind experience trial surveyed 30 participants.
3 Samples
Each participant was given 2 unlabeled samples with ~20% total cannabinoids:
THC only
1 : 1 THCV : THC (Joyride)
Frequency
Participants smoked prerolls and reported on their energy, activity, motivation, focus, appetite, and adverse events.
